Course Objectives:

  • To define and understand antimicrobial stewardship interventions.
  • To understand the sociocultural, ethical, and behavioral aspects of antimicrobial stewardship
  • To understand the implementation aspects of antimicrobial stewardship
  • To discuss barriers to antimicrobial stewardship and to find solutions to address them.
  • To learn about audits on assessment of quality of prescriptions , antibiotic consumption, and compliance measurement.
  • To learn about stewardship protocols in ICU, ER, surgery, immunocompromised patients and of the common syndromes addressed in Primary care.
  • To discuss barriers in own institute / clinic and discuss solutions with group and speakers.
