Dr. Chand Wattal is an Honorary Senior Consultant and Chairman of the Department of Clinical Microbiology at Sri Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, India. Dr. Wattal has been a postgraduate teacher since 1985. He is also on the technical advisory committee at the Ministry of Health, Government of India and serves on several task forces for Rational Antibiotic Use at the Indian Ministry of Health.
Dr. Wattal has served twice as a Guest Editor of the Journal of International Medical Sciences Academy. He is on the panel of various editorial boards and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Indian Journal of Medical Microbiology. Dr. Wattal was formerly the President of the Delhi Chapter of the Indian Association of Medical Microbiology (IAMM) and currently serves as the Chairman of IAMM EQAS for Medical Microbiology.
Dr. Wattal has published 131 research articles, has delivered 230 guest lectures, and chaired 89 scientific sessions. His book on “Emergencies in Infectious Diseases: from Head to Toe” was released in April 2009 and “Hospital Infection Prevention: Principles & Practices” was released in April 2014.
Dr. Wattal received an MD from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India.
