Dr. Prasanna Kumar is an Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases at Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore, India.
He coordinates the Fellowship in General Infectious Diseases at CMC Vellore and was involved in the development of the institution’s antibiotic use guidelines. Dr. Kumar was also part of a consultant team that assessed the feasibility of the WHO Antimicrobial Stewardship Toolkit for Low- and Middle-Income Countries in Bhutan. He regularly coordinates clinical care for patients living with HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Kumar received a medical degree in Infectious Disease from CMC Vellore. His research interests include HIV, antimicrobial resistance, and antimicrobial stewardship.
